How to Remove Door Panel Hyundai Elantra 2011-2016

In this tutorial, you will learn how to replace the door panel on a Hyundai Elantra 2011-2016. These instructions are shown on the front driver's door panel but the passenger and rear panels can be removed following the same method. 


  1. Using a flat screwdriver to remove the front door side mirror inner cover.

  2. Remove two Phillips screws that hold the dorr panel in place.  One of the screws is near the door handle. The second screw that needs to be removed is in the center of the door panel. Both screws have small plastic covers that need to be removed to access the screws underneath.

  4. Disconnect the door handle and electrical wires. Next, you need to pop out the door panel. You can use a flat screwdriver but be careful because you can damage your Hyundai door panel. A better tool to use is plastic interior trim removal tool.

  5. Installation in reverse order. 

If your interior door handle is broken on your Hyundai Elantra, you need to remove the door panel as described here in order to replace the door handle.  

Removing the door panel on a Hyundai Elantra is very easy and can be completed in less than 20 minutes. The door panel is held in place with two screws and several retainer clips / rivets. As far as tools required, all you need is a Phillips and flat screwdriver. A flashlight and an interior trim removal set may also come in handy.

It would be helpful to know that once you remove the door panel you have to also remove the second door panel that is right behind the first door panel, and no instructions on how to remove the second one. Womp womp.

The second panel is held in place with several 10mm bolts and comes of easily.
