Procedure

  1. Remove the door trunk panel. For more help, see this guide. Removing the trunk panel of the vehicle.

     

  2. Remove the T30 screws on the trunk's door latch using a Torx screwdriver and twist it counterclockwise.The T30 screws holding the trunk door latch.

     

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector of the door latch by unlocking the clip and pulling the connector out.The electrical connector of the trunk door latch.

  4. Disconnect the two electrical connectors on the box module by pressing the clip and pulling the connector out.The electrical connectors of the box module.

  5. Remove the box module by removing the 10mm bolt. Use a 10mm nut driver or socket wrench to remove the bolt.The 10mm bolt holding the box module.

  6. Remove the cable on the trunk door latch by simply pulling it out.Removing the cable out from the trunk door latch.

     

  7. Pull the trunk door latch out of the vehicle.Removing the trunk door latch.

  8. Get the replacement trunk door latch, install the door latch cable, and line it up back to the vehicle.Reinstalling the cable of the trunk door latch.

  9. Reinstall the T30 screws on the door latch and tighten it by twisting the Torx screwdriver clockwise.Reinstalling the T30 screws on the trunk door latch.

     

  10. Reconnect the electrical connector of the door latch and push the clip to lock it in its place.Reconnecting the electrical connector of the trunk door latch.

     

  11. Slide the box module back to the trunk and reinstall the 10mm bolt.Reinstalling the box module back to the trunk.
