What you will need
Procedure
- Remove the airbag on the steering wheel. If you need help with this step, follow these procedures for the removal of the airbag.
- Remove the steering wheel. If you need help with this step, follow these procedures for the removal of the steering wheel.
- Remove the two screws holding the upper and lower plastic trims of the steering column by using a Philips screwdriver and twisting it counterclockwise.
- Pull the lower plastic trim out of the steering column.
- Pull the upper plastic trim up and out of the steering column.
- Push the clips located above and on the lower right side of the clock, spring to unlock the clips holding the clock spring.
- Once the clock spring pop's out, pull the clock spring out of the vehicle.
- Disconnect the three electrical connectors of the clock spring by pressing the clip and pulling the connector out. The yellow connector has a different clip on it, simply pull down the clip to unlock the connector then press the clip and pull the connector out to disconnect.
- Line up the new clock spring and push it in to lock the clips holding to the clock spring.
- Reconnect the three electrical connectors of the clock spring by pushing the connectors back to their connection port. For the yellow connector push the clip up to lock the connector.
- Line up the upper and lower plastic trim back to the steering column. Then press them together to set them into place.
- Reinstall the two screws on the plastic trim by twisting the Philips screwdriver clockwise.
- Reinstall the steering wheel. If you need help with this step, follow these procedures for the installation of the steering wheel.
- Reinstall the airbag. If you need help with this step, follow the procedures for installing the airbag.
