📖 YOUCANIC Automotive Glossary
NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) covers identifying and reducing unwanted sounds and vibrations. Sources include engine mechanical noise (rod knock, valve tick), drivetrain vibration (driveshaft, U-joint, CV joint), suspension noise (bushings, strut bearing, sway bar link), brake noise (squeal, pulsation), wind noise (seal gaps), and road noise (tire tread, wheel bearing hum).
Diagnosis requires determining if noise is speed-dependent (tires, bearings, drivetrain), RPM-dependent (engine, accessories), or load-dependent (drivetrain, suspension). The YOUCANIC UCAN-II helps by providing live data correlation and wheel speed sensor data to identify bearing noise.
