The dashboard your car
should have come with

Your factory cluster shows you a fraction of what your car already knows. UCAN-GO plugs into the OBD2 port and turns your phone into a live instrument cluster — real gauges, windshield HUD, acceleration timing, and check engine codes.

The problem

Your car is doing the math. Your dash just isn’t showing you.

Every second you drive, the engine control unit calculates coolant temperature to the degree, engine load to the percent, charging voltage to the tenth. Then the factory cluster throws almost all of it away and hands you a needle that sits dead center, a warning light that comes on too late, and on plenty of modern cars, no temperature gauge at all.

UCAN-GO doesn’t add sensors. It just stops hiding the ones you already paid for.

Live data

Straight from the ECU. Not estimated.

Not averaged from GPS. Not guessed from your phone’s accelerometer. The actual numbers your engine is working with, at the moment it’s working with them.

2,480
Engine RPM

A tachometer at last, even on base trims that never had one.

197°F
Coolant temp

Real degrees and a live trend line — catch a failing thermostat while it’s a $30 part.

14.2V
Charging voltage

Watch the alternator work. A slow slide is your warning before the no-start.

35%
Engine load

Load and coolant side by side on a long grade, so you back off in time.

Plus intake air temp, manifold pressure, throttle position, fuel trims, O2 sensor voltage, fuel rate, and more. Available parameters vary by make, model, and year.

Four ways to watch

Pick the view that fits the drive

Gauge dashboard

Analog-style dials for RPM, coolant, and fuel rate with a big digital speed readout. The cluster your car deserved.

Full screen drive view

Landscape twin dials with speed and RPM front and center, temperature and fuel rate along the bottom.

Live curves

Any parameter graphed over time. Watch trends instead of snapshots — coolant climbing, fuel trim drifting, voltage sagging.

Windshield HUD

Mirrored speed and RPM projected onto the glass. Eyes stay on the road.

HUD mode

A heads-up display, in any car you own

Lay the phone flat on the dash and HUD mode mirrors your speed and RPM up onto the windshield. The numbers float in your line of sight at night, so checking your speed no longer means looking away from the road.

Factory heads-up displays are a luxury-trim option that costs hundreds. This one is a display mode in a free app.

Time every run with real numbers

Built-in acceleration timing measures directly from ECU speed data rather than estimating from GPS. Run a pull, see what your car actually does, then run it again after the intake, the tune, or the new tires.

Real numbers instead of butt-dyno impressions.

Trip history

Every drive, logged automatically

Distance, duration, hard braking events, and rapid acceleration counts recorded without you touching anything. Review a spirited run, keep records for rideshare and small fleet use, or hand a new teen driver an honest report card.

Diagnostics

And when the check engine light comes on

Read the code, understand it, fix it, clear it. Without a $150 diagnostic fee to be told what a $0 app could have told you.

Read & clear

Pull engine trouble codes, make the repair, then turn the light off from your phone. If the light returns, the repair didn’t hold.

AI code search

35,901 codes built into the app, with plain-English explanations of what the code means and what to check first.

Freeze frame

Captures the exact sensor conditions at the moment the fault set — the context that turns a code into a diagnosis.

I/M readiness

Know whether the car will pass emissions before you drive to the station. Mode 6 shows onboard test results before a code even triggers.

Stated plainly: UCAN-GO reads and clears engine (check engine light) codes only. It does not access ABS, airbag, transmission, TPMS, or body modules. For full system diagnostics, active tests, and TPMS programming, that’s the UCAN-II-D Pro.

Built right

Not another ELM327 clone

Live gauges are only as good as the data behind them. The cheap adapters flooding online marketplaces run counterfeit or trimmed ELM327 chips that drop connections on modern CAN vehicles and return unreliable numbers — which is worse than no gauge at all. UCAN-GO is built on a genuine Microchip PIC18F25K80 automotive controller with Bluetooth 5.1, and supports all nine OBD2 protocols.

One note: the OBD2 port stays powered with the ignition off, so unplug UCAN-GO if the vehicle will sit unused for more than a few days.

UCAN-GO is for you if…

✓You want live gauges, HUD mode, and real acceleration numbers your dash never offered
✓Your cluster hides more than it shows — no temp gauge, no tach, no voltage
✓You want to understand the check engine light before calling a shop
✓You’re a parent or small fleet owner who wants every trip logged automatically

Skip it if…

You need ABS, airbag, or transmission codes, active tests, or TPMS programming. No Bluetooth dongle does that job well.

Does it work with your vehicle?

If your vehicle has a 16-pin OBD2 port within reach of the driver seat, UCAN-GO connects to it.

Gasoline, diesel & hybrid

Gasoline is fully supported across all model years listed. Diesel and hybrid are supported. Most EVs do not report standard OBD2 engine data — expect limited or no support.

A note for hybrid owners

When a hybrid runs on battery power the gasoline engine shuts down, so RPM reads zero and engine data pauses even while moving. That’s your car working correctly, not a fault with UCAN-GO.

Answering repair questions

Frequently asked questions

Does the UCAN-GO work as a heads-up display?

Yes. HUD mode mirrors speed and RPM onto your windshield when the phone is placed on the dash, designed for night driving and for vehicles without a factory heads-up display.

Can it show coolant temperature if my car only has a warning light?

Yes. UCAN-GO reads the actual coolant temperature value from the ECU and displays it in degrees, with a live trend graph, on vehicles that report it. This is one of the most common reasons owners install it.

Does it show a tachometer on cars without one?

Yes. Engine RPM is read directly from the ECU and displayed as a live gauge, so base model vehicles without a factory tachometer get one.

Can the UCAN-GO time 0 to 60 acceleration?

Yes. Performance testing measures acceleration from ECU speed data rather than GPS estimation.

Do I need a separate app to see live gauges?

No. The gauge dashboard, HUD mode, live curves, and performance timing are all built into the free app. Several competing adapters require a paid third party app to display live data.

What model years does it support?

US market vehicles from 1996, Japanese market from 1998, European gasoline from 2001, and European diesel from 2004. Rest of Asia is generally supported from 2008 onward. Any vehicle with a standard 16-pin OBD2 port can connect.

Does it work on diesel, hybrid, or electric vehicles?

Diesel and hybrid are supported. Most electric vehicles do not report standard OBD2 engine data, so expect limited or no support on EVs.

Why does my hybrid show zero RPM while I’m driving?

Because the gasoline engine is off and the vehicle is running on battery power. Engine data resumes as soon as the engine restarts. This is normal hybrid behavior, not a connection problem.

Will it turn off my check engine light?

Yes. Read the code, make the repair, then clear the light from the app. If the underlying fault is still present the light returns, which tells you the repair did not hold.

Does it read ABS, airbag, transmission, or TPMS codes?

No. UCAN-GO reads and clears engine codes only. For full system access, active tests, and TPMS programming, use the UCAN-II-D Pro.

Does the UCAN-GO require a subscription?

No. You buy it once and own it. Free app, free updates for life, no premium tier.

Where is the OBD2 port on my car?

On nearly every 1996 and newer vehicle it is within reach of the driver seat, most often under the dash near the steering column. Some vehicles place it behind a small trim panel or inside the center console.

Will it drain my car battery?

Not on a vehicle in regular use. UCAN-GO draws 240 to 360 mW, roughly 20 to 30 mA, and normal driving replaces that easily. On a vehicle that sits for weeks, a stored classic, a seasonal vehicle, or a car with an older battery, unplug the adapter between uses.

Does it work with iPhone and Android?

Yes, both. The free app is available on the App Store and Google Play, with a direct APK download available if you cannot access Google Play.

Who supports the UCAN-GO if I need help?
