RCTA (Rear Cross-Traffic Alert) uses the same rear radar sensors as BSM to detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists approaching from the sides when the vehicle is in reverse. The system provides visual and audible alerts, and some advanced systems include automatic braking. RCTA shares sensors with BSM, so rear bumper damage affecting BSM also disables RCTA.
The YOUCANIC UCAN-II reads the same rear sensor module codes for both BSM and RCTA. After rear bumper work, sensor recalibration ensures both systems function accurately.
