2008-2017 Volvo XC60 – How to Check and Add Engine Oil

Has the engine oil or check engine warning light come on in your 2008-2017 Volvo XC60? This guide will show you how to accurately check your engine oil level using the vehicle’s center display and maintain proper oil levels for optimal engine performance.

System Requirements

Checking Oil Level

  1. Locate and pull the hood release handle under the dashboard on the driver’s side. Hood Release Inside Car
  2. Walk to the front of your vehicle and find the hood safety latch under the hood’s front edge. Push the latch to the side to fully release the hood. Hood Latch

  4. Find the oil dipstick, pull it out, and clean it with a paper towel. Pull Dipstick
  5. Insert the dipstick all the way, pull it back out, and check the oil level using the markings at the bottom of the stick. Oil Dipstick
  6. The markings should be between the “MIN” and “MAX” lines on the dipstick. If the oil level is close to or below the “MIN” line, add more oil.

Adding Oil Step-by-Step
