2014–2020

The Acura RLX, launched in 2013, replaced the RL model. It was available in two versions: a front-wheel-drive base model with an All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) and a hybrid variant featuring SH-AWD. The hybrid model offered improved weight distribution and power distribution to enhance handling. Powering the RLX was a 3.5-liter V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) and VTEC, producing 310 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid variant combined this V6 engine with a 35 kW electric motor and two 27 kW electric motors powering the rear wheels, achieving a total system output of 377 hp and torque vectoring all-wheel drive. The hybrid also featured a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a lithium-ion battery pack for improved fuel efficiency. Regarding technology, the RLX boasted features like LED headlamps, a dual-screen infotainment system, and an optional Krell audio system. It was the first Acura to feature Jewel-Eye LED headlamps, and the hybrid model included LED fog lamps as standard. The RLX aimed to blend luxury, technology, and performance in the Acura lineup.
