2004–2008

The Acura TSX was unveiled at the 2003 North American International Auto Show and became available as a production model. The 2004 TSX featured a 2.4-liter inline-four K24A2 engine generating 200 horsepower, a six-speed manual transmission with a particular lightweight casing, and front-wheel drive. In the U.S., there was an option for a no-cost five-speed automatic transmission, but this wasn’t the case in Canada. In 2006, the TSX received updates, including a minor increase in engine power to 205 horsepower, sportier exterior styling with front and rear design changes, standard side skirts, integral fog lights, and restyled wheels. The 2007 model introduced a Tire Pressure Monitoring System and an improved electronic rearview mirror, while the 2008 model year brought a new color option. The interior of the TSX saw enhancements over the years, with features like XM Satellite Radio, a four-way power passenger seat, illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, and a Multi-information Display (MID) in the instrument panel. Luxury features included a two-position memory for the driver’s seat adjustments, auxiliary MP3 player input, and Bluetooth-compatible HandsFreeLink for cellular phones operated through voice control. In safety testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the TSX received a “Good” rating for frontal-offset testing, “Poor” for rear crash protection, and “Acceptable” for side impact testing.
