In December 2014, Audi revealed details about the RS 3 Sportback, which became available for sale in the first quarter of 2015. It boasted a 2.5-liter straight-5 engine delivering 367 PS (270 kW; 362 hp) and 465 N⋅m (343 lb-ft) of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. There was anticipation that the RS 3 Sportback would come to the United States. In 2017, the RS3 lineup expanded to include a sedan version. Customers could choose between a fixed suspension or an adjustable magnetic damper. Depending on the country, various optional packages, such as the Black Optic package with high-gloss black elements or the Dynamic package featuring titanium wheels and a sports exhaust system, were available. The third-generation Audi A3 underwent a facelift in 2016, coinciding with the A3’s 20th anniversary. This update introduced significant cosmetic changes, including Matrix LED headlights, a refreshed front grille, and a more A4-like appearance. Interior updates included an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster screen. The facelifted A3 was released in the United States for the 2016 model year.
