2004–2009

The Cadillac XLR, produced from 2004 to 2009, was a luxury convertible sports car that marked Cadillac’s entry into the high-performance luxury segment. This two-seater roadster was built on the same platform as the Chevrolet Corvette but featured distinct Cadillac styling and luxury touches. Its exterior design showcased Cadillac’s signature bold grille, and it had a retractable hardtop roof that seamlessly transformed it from a coupe to a convertible at the push of a button. Inside the XLR, the cabin was lavishly appointed with premium materials, including leather and wood trim. Technologically advanced features included a head-up display, adaptive cruise control, and a touchscreen infotainment system. Underneath its stylish exterior, the XLR featured a sport-tuned suspension and Magnetic Ride Control, which adapted to driving conditions for a smooth yet agile ride. While it shared the Corvette’s powerful V8 engine, the XLR prioritized refinement and luxury over all-out performance. Despite its limited production run, the XLR left a lasting impression as a symbol of Cadillac’s aspirations in the luxury sports car segment, offering a blend of style, comfort, and performance.
