Land Rover Freelander / LR2 2007-2015

2007–2015
Overview

The Land Rover Freelander 2, also known as the LR2 in North America, represented a significant improvement over its predecessor when it was introduced in 2007. This compact luxury SUV featured a more sophisticated and modern design, aligning it with Land Rover's contemporary style. It was slightly larger, offering more interior space and better comfort for both on-road and off-road journeys. The Freelander 2/LR2 continued to emphasize Land Rover's renowned off-road capabilities, with a full-time all-wheel-drive system and various advanced technologies like Terrain Response, which allowed drivers to tailor the vehicle's settings to different driving conditions.

Inside, the cabin was well-appointed, with high-quality materials and advanced infotainment options. The seating arrangement was versatile, and the rear seats could be folded to expand cargo space. The Freelander 2/LR2 came with a range of engines, including both gasoline and diesel options, to cater to different market preferences. While it wasn't as luxurious as some of its larger Land Rover siblings, it offered a compelling blend of off-road prowess, on-road comfort, and practicality, making it a popular choice in the compact luxury SUV segment.
