Acura MDX: How to Reset Maintenance Reminder | Manual & Scanner Methods

In this video, we show you how to reset the maintenance required reminder (oil life/service light) on a 2016 Acura MDX using both the manual method and the YOUCANIC OBD-II Scanner.

This reset procedure works on most Acura models from 2014–2020, including:

Acura MDX

Acura RDX

Acura TLX

Acura ILX

Acura RLX

🔧 Manual Reset Procedure:

Turn the ignition to ON (don’t start the engine).

Use the steering wheel controls to go to the Maintenance Info / Oil Life screen.

Press and hold the Enter button until the reset menu appears.

Select “Reset” to confirm.

💡 If the manual method doesn’t work or if you’ve replaced the battery, you can also reset the light using the YOUCANIC scanner — especially useful after doing your own oil change or when the system doesn’t reset automatically.
