How to Change the Headlight Off Delay on a Jeep Renegade (2015-2023)
About this video
Do your Jeep Renegade headlights stay on after you turn off the car and wonder why, or do you want them to stay on longer to light your way to the door at night? In this video, we show you step by step where to find the headlight off delay setting on a Jeep Renegade and how to adjust it, no dealer visit or scan tool required.
The headlight off delay, sometimes called the follow me home feature, keeps your headlights on for a set amount of time after you shut off the engine and exit the vehicle. In the settings menu you can adjust how long the lights stay on, typically 0, 30, 60, or 90 seconds, or turn the delay off completely if you don’t want the headlights staying on at all. We walk you through the exact menu steps and also explain what to check if your headlights stay on much longer than they should, which can point to a different problem rather than this setting.
This video was filmed on a 2016 Jeep Renegade and applies to the full first generation, model years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, including the 2019 facelift models. The menu layout may vary slightly depending on whether your Renegade has the base radio or a Uconnect touchscreen. Because the Renegade shares its platform and electronics with the Fiat 500X, these steps are similar for 2016-2023 Fiat 500X models, and the process is comparable on other Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, RAM, and Fiat vehicles.
