About this video

Selling, trading in, or returning your Jeep? Before you hand over the keys, make sure to erase your personal data from the radio. In this video, we show you step by step how to delete paired Bluetooth phones, contacts, call history, and other personal information stored in the radio of a Jeep Renegade, and how to reset the system back to its original settings.

Your car radio stores more than you think: connected Bluetooth phones, synced phonebook contacts, recent calls, and paired device history. Clearing this data protects your privacy and gives the next owner a clean system.

This video was filmed on a 2016 Jeep Renegade and applies to the full first generation, model years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, including the 2019 facelift models. Depending on the year and trim, the Renegade came with different radio systems, from the base radio to the larger Uconnect touchscreen systems, and the steps to delete phones and personal data are similar across them. Because the Renegade shares its radios and electronics with other FCA / Stellantis vehicles, these steps also apply to the Fiat 500X and are similar on the Jeep Compass, Cherokee, and many Chrysler, Dodge, RAM, and Fiat models.
