Learn how to safely jump start a 2015-2023 Jeep Renegade (first generation BU, including the 2019 facelift). We show you where the battery is located, where to connect the jumper cables or a jump box, and the correct connection and removal order to avoid damaging the electronics.

SIGNS OF A DEAD OR WEAK BATTERY
Single click or rapid clicking when you press start, no crank at all, dim or flickering dash lights, the radio and clock resetting, and the Stop/Start Unavailable message on the instrument cluster.

The procedure applies to all 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 Jeep Renegade models and engines, including the 1.4L Turbo, 2.4L Tigershark, and 1.3L Turbo. The Fiat 500X shares the same platform and has a very similar jump start procedure, so 500X owners can follow along as well.
