How to Turn Backup Camera Guide Lines ON or OFF on a Jeep Renegade (2015-2023)

About this video

Want to turn on the guide lines on your Jeep Renegade backup camera, or turn them off? In this video, we go over the ParkView rear backup camera settings on a Jeep Renegade and show you step by step how to enable or disable the active guide lines (the colored grid lines that help you judge distance when reversing), plus the other camera options available in the settings menu, such as the camera display delay that keeps the camera image on screen for a few seconds after you shift out of reverse.

The ParkView backup camera guide lines show your projected path and distance zones behind the vehicle, which makes parking and backing up much easier. If the lines are missing on your screen, it is usually just this setting turned off rather than a camera problem, and we show you exactly where to find it. We also mention what to check if the camera image itself is black, blurry, or not coming on at all, since that points to a different issue than the guideline setting.

This video was filmed on a Jeep Renegade and applies to the full first generation, model years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023, including the 2019 facelift models. Camera settings availability depends on the radio your Renegade has, and the menu layout varies slightly between the smaller screens and the larger Uconnect touchscreens. Because ParkView is used across FCA / Stellantis vehicles, these steps are similar on the Fiat 500X, Jeep Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Gladiator, and many Chrysler, Dodge, and RAM models with the ParkView rear backup camera.
