Mercedes Benz NOx Sensor Reset Adaption with YOUCANIC Scanner SCR DEF Warning
About this video
Learn how to use the YOUCANIC UCAN-II scanner to perform a Mercedes-Benz NOx sensor reset/adaption. This is a demonstration (not a repair lesson) showing where the function lives in the scanner and what issues a reset can sometimes help with after replacing a NOx sensor, updating software, or doing SCR/DEF system repairs.
What this video covers
Accessing NOx sensor reset/adaption with the YOUCANIC scanner
When a reset may help (after parts replacement or repairs)
What to look for in live data before/after the reset
Clearing related fault codes and confirming monitor status
Problems this reset may help with (when underlying faults are fixed):
Check Engine Light (CEL) with NOx sensor or SCR efficiency codes
“Check AdBlue/DEF”, “Start not possible in XXX miles”, or SCR system warnings
Poor fuel economy or reduced power/limp mode due to emissions derate
Failed emissions readiness for NOx/SCR monitors
Persistent NOx sensor plausibility or adaptation errors after sensor replacement
⚠️ Important: A reset/adaption will not fix a bad sensor, wiring fault, injector issue, crystallized DEF lines, low DEF quality, or a failing SCR catalyst. Always diagnose and repair root causes first.
Applies to (examples): Many Mercedes-Benz diesel models with SCR/DEF systems (e.g., Bluetec E-Class, S-Class, GL/ML/GLE/GLS, Sprinter). Menu paths and wording may vary by model/year.
