Product Questions
What features do YOUCANIC scanners offer?
Our scanners provide full-system diagnostics, covering engine, ABS (anti-lock braking system), transmission, SRS module, live data, bi-directional tests, service resets, DPF regeneration, and battery adaptations. As an added bonus, our scanners operate without subscription fees.
Difference between UCAN-II-C vs UCAN-II-B
The YOUCANIC UCAN-II-B and UCAN-II-C scanners feature identical hardware; the distinction lies in the software capabilities. Both models support full-system diagnostics, live data streaming, fault code clearing, active tests (bidirectional control), and comprehensive coverage across all major makes and models. Each scanner includes 40 advanced maintenance functions such as electronic parking brake (EPB) reset, battery registration, steering angle sensor calibration, and injector coding. However, the UCAN-II-C version is equipped with enhanced software that enables module coding and configuration—critical when replacing components like a body control module (BCM), where reprogramming is required. The UCAN-II-B lacks these advanced coding features but retains the same diagnostic and maintenance utility, making the C version more suitable for users needing deeper control over module replacement and adaptation procedures.
My scanner isn’t charging or turning on. What should I do?
1. Try using a different charger. Any charging cable/wall adapter will work as long as it isn’t a fast charger. (5V , 500mA-2A, USB-C)
2. Try charging your scanner using a computer or laptop. Leave it plugged in with the computer/laptop turned on for a couple of hours to confirm that the scanner isn’t charging at all.
3. If the scanner isn’t turning on or charging, contact YOUCANIC support. We can replace the battery for you, but if it isn’t under warranty, you will be charged a $67 service fee.

What’s the difference between current and store fault codes when using an OBD-II scanner?
When you scan your vehicle with a diagnostic scanner, such as the YOUCANIC scanner, you’ll often see two types of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs): current and stored. Current fault codes refer to the issue the vehicle’s system is detecting right now; these indicate active problems that are currently present. Stored fault codes are issues that were detected in the past and recorded by the vehicle’s computer, even if they’re not active at the moment. Understanding the difference help you determine whether a problem is going or has already been resolved but left a record in the system
