📖 YOUCANIC Automotive Glossary
LDW (Lane Departure Warning) uses a forward-facing camera to monitor lane markings and alerts the driver with visual, audible, or haptic warnings when the vehicle drifts across lane lines without a turn signal. LDW is passive (alert only); LKA (Lane Keep Assist) provides active steering correction. LDW requires visible lane markings — faded lines, construction zones, snow, and glare can make it unavailable.
After windshield replacement, LDW camera recalibration is typically required. The YOUCANIC UCAN-II reads ADAS camera module codes when the LDW warning appears, helping determine if the issue is a sensor fault, calibration loss, or poor road conditions.
