My Scanner Will Not Turn On or Charge. What Should I Do?
This is usually caused by a deeply discharged battery and can be resolved with a slow, steady charge.
Steps to Fix
- Use a 5V, 500mA–1A charger (not a fast charger)
- Plug the scanner in and leave it charging for at least 1 hour without turning it on
- Alternatively, connect it to a USB port on a powered computer and leave it for 2+ hours
- After charging, try turning the scanner on
If the Scanner Was Stored for a Long Time
- The battery may be fully drained — charge for at least 1 hour before powering on
- The LED light in the top-left corner should come on when charging
To Prevent This in the Future
- Always power off properly: hold the power button for 5 seconds, then tap Power Off
- Keep the battery at 70% or higher before storing
If the scanner still will not charge after trying these steps, contact support@youcanic.com. Battery replacements are covered under warranty. Out-of-warranty replacements cost $67.
