What Is ABS Service Mode and Does the YOUCANIC Scanner Support It?
ABS Service Mode enables electronic brake bleeding by cycling the ABS pump and solenoid valves. This removes air trapped inside the ABS hydraulic control unit, which standard manual bleeding cannot reach.
When You Need ABS Service Mode
- After replacing the ABS hydraulic module
- After replacing brake calipers, master cylinder, or brake lines
- After the ABS system has been opened and air has entered
- When the brake pedal feels spongy after manual bleeding
What the Scanner Does
The scanner activates the ABS pump and cycles each solenoid valve individually, pushing trapped air through the system so it can be bled out at the calipers.
Is My Vehicle Supported?
ABS electronic bleed is supported on many vehicles. ABS module access differs by brand. Verify at coverage.youcanic.com or email support@youcanic.com with your VIN and the function you need.
