What Is AFR Adaptation Reset and Does the YOUCANIC Scanner Support It?
AFR (Air-Fuel Ratio) Adaptation Reset clears the learned fuel trim values stored in your vehicle’s engine control module. Over time, the ECU adapts fueling based on sensor feedback. After replacing key components, these learned values may no longer be accurate.
When You Need AFR Reset
- After replacing oxygen (O2) sensors
- After replacing the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor
- After injector replacement
- After major engine repairs (head gasket, intake manifold, etc.)
- When experiencing rough idle or poor fuel economy after repairs
What the Scanner Does
The scanner resets the stored fuel trim adaptation values, allowing the ECU to relearn correct fueling under current engine conditions. This helps restore smooth idle, proper fuel economy, and correct emissions output.
Is My Vehicle Supported?
AFR adaptation reset is supported on many vehicles. Availability varies by manufacturer and engine platform. Confirm at coverage.youcanic.com or email support@youcanic.com with your VIN.
