What Is Injector Coding and Does the YOUCANIC Scanner Support It?
Injector Coding programs individual calibration values into the engine ECU after fuel injector replacement. Modern injectors are manufactured with slight variations, and each one has a unique compensation code printed on the injector body.
Why Injector Coding Is Necessary
- Ensures precise fuel delivery from each cylinder
- Prevents rough idle, misfires, or excessive smoke
- Required on most diesel engines and many gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines
How to Perform Injector Coding
- Note the calibration code printed on the new injector
- Connect the scanner to the vehicle
- Navigate to Maintenance → Injector Coding
- Select the cylinder and enter the new code
Is My Vehicle Supported?
Injector coding is supported on many diesel and direct injection vehicles. Verify at coverage.youcanic.com or email support@youcanic.com with your VIN.
