What Is the Difference Between the UCAN-II-C and UCAN-II-B?

← Back to All Questions
Home › Questions & Answers › What Is the Difference Between the UCAN-II-C and UCAN-II-B?
Applies to: UCAN-II, UCAN-II Pro

The UCAN-II-B and UCAN-II-C share identical hardware. The difference is in the software:

Both Models Include

  • Full-system diagnostics across all major makes and models
  • Live data streaming
  • Fault code reading and clearing
  • Bidirectional active tests
  • 40+ advanced maintenance functions (EPB reset, battery registration, steering angle calibration, injector coding, etc.)

UCAN-II-C Adds

  • Module coding and configuration — essential when replacing components like a body control module (BCM), where the new module needs to be programmed to the vehicle
  • Advanced adaptation procedures

If you regularly replace electronic modules, the UCAN-II-C is the better choice. For standard diagnostics and maintenance, the UCAN-II-B is more than capable.
