What Is the Difference Between the UCAN-II-C vs UCAN-II-B?

← Back to All Questions
Home › Questions & Answers › What Is the Difference Between the UCAN-II-C vs UCAN-II-B?

The primary difference between the UCAN-II-B and the newer UCAN-II-C is hardware performance and expanded software capability. The UCAN-II-B introduced Bluetooth connectivity, allowing wireless diagnostics up to about 30 feet, eliminating the older cable-only connection used in the original UCAN-II. It supports full-system diagnostics, bidirectional control, live data, active tests, and many service functions across most vehicles.

The UCAN-II-C is the newer version launched in 2024 and the most advanced version. Hardware-wise, it includes double the RAM, double the internal storage, and approximately 25% more battery capacity compared to the -B version, resulting in smoother performance and better multitasking. On the software side, the -C received a significant upgrade with expanded special functions, more adaptations and resets, improved AI-assisted diagnostic suggestions, and broader vehicle coverage. For users who want the most up-to-date platform with the strongest long-term support and expanded service capabilities, the UCAN-II-C is the recommended option.
