APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) measures pedal travel in drive-by-wire vehicles where no cable connects the pedal to the throttle. For safety, APP uses two or three redundant sensing elements the ECU cross-checks. If signals disagree, the ECU enters reduced power mode. DTCs: P2120-P2125 (Sensor codes), P2135 (Correlation — redundant sensors disagree).
The YOUCANIC UCAN-II displays both APP channels in live data — both should track smoothly from approximately 0.5V to 4.5V as the pedal moves from released to fully depressed.
