How to Open a Subaru Hood

Procedure
- Set the parking brake and ensure the gear selector is in Park. Turn off the engine.

- Pull the hood release lever under the dashboard until you hear the hood pop open. If the hood doesn’t pop up, the cable may be damaged or misaligned.

- Go to the front of the vehicle. Slide your hand under the hood and press the lever to release the hood.

- Lift the hood and secure it with the hood prop rod.

Opening the hood on a Subaru takes only a few minutes.
If the hood does not pop up, check to see if the cable under the hood has come off the release lever.
