What Does the Change Tire Size Function Do?
The Change Tire Size function updates your vehicle’s ECU parameters to account for non-factory tire diameters. Without this correction, several systems may provide inaccurate readings.
What It Corrects
- Speedometer accuracy — larger or smaller tires change actual speed vs. displayed speed
- ABS calculations — the system uses wheel speed sensors that rely on tire circumference
- Transmission shift points — some transmissions adjust shift timing based on vehicle speed
- Odometer tracking
When You Need It
- After installing larger or smaller tires than factory spec
- After switching between summer and winter tire sizes (if significantly different)
Is My Vehicle Supported?
This function is supported on select vehicles that allow configuration changes. Not all manufacturers permit tire size coding through diagnostic tools. Confirm at coverage.youcanic.com or email support@youcanic.com with your VIN.
