Crankshaft Position Relearn (also called Gear Learn or CKP Variation Learn) teaches the ECU the precise position of each crankshaft reluctor wheel tooth. This calibration is critical for accurate misfire detection.

When You Need It

  • After replacing the crankshaft position sensor
  • After engine rebuild or major internal repairs
  • After replacing the ECU/PCM
  • After replacing the crankshaft or harmonic balancer
  • When experiencing random misfire codes (P0300) after engine work

How to Perform It

  1. Connect the scanner
  2. Navigate to Maintenance → CKP Relearn or Crankshaft Variation Learn
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions (typically requires running the engine at a specific RPM)

Is My Vehicle Supported?
