2015–2020

The 2015 Acura TLX offered two powertrain options. The first was a 2.4-liter four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine with direct injection, available with front-wheel drive and a dual-clutch transmission with all-wheel steering (P-AWS). This engine produced 206 hp and achieved an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. It featured a torque converter to reduce gear shift shock and NVH. The six-cylinder model with a 3.5-liter direct-injected SOHC VTEC V6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission (available with P-AWS or all-wheel drive SH-AWD) produced 290 hp. Front-wheel drive models achieved 21 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined, while all-wheel drive models offered 21 mpg city, 31 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined. The 2015 TLX featured design changes with a slightly reduced overall length compared to its predecessor but maintained the same wheelbase. It adopted a MacPherson strut suspension, replacing the previous double wishbone setup, and featured improved noise reduction with triple door seals and additional sound insulation. The SH-AWD system used hydraulic clutches instead of electromagnetic clutch packs, reducing weight and cost.
