2021–present

The second-generation Acura TLX, based on the Type S concept from 2019, was digitally launched in May 2020 and went into production in August, with sales beginning in September. It introduced a Type S model featuring a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine producing 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, marking the return of the Type S variant after a decade. The TLX now serves as Acura’s flagship sedan, filling the void left by the discontinued RLX. The TLX lineup includes four-cylinder models with codes UB5 for front-wheel drive and UB6 for SH-AWD, while the Type S model is coded as UB7. The TLX utilizes a new platform with a front double wishbone suspension, forged aluminum lower control arms, and various structural enhancements to increase rigidity. The body structure incorporates high-strength steel and aluminum components, emphasizing weight reduction and improved weight distribution. Notable options include adaptive dampers, a 10.5-inch head-up display, a high-end audio system, open-pore wood trim, and 16-way power leather seats with lumbar adjustment. The brake system adopts an electric-servo brake-by-wire setup similar to the Acura NSX, with Type S models equipped with four-piston Brembo front brake calipers.
