Fix Cadillac Hood That Won’t Stay Up

What you will need

1. Cadillac Hood Support
2. Flathead Screwdriver
3. Two People

Procedure

1. Open the hood of your Cadillac. The hood latch release is located under the dashboard on the driver’s side.
2. Have a friend hold up the hood. Someone could get seriously injured if the hood falls while changing the Cadillac hood supports.
3. Secure the hood in an upright position. Locate the hood struts that need to be replaced. The hood strut is attached to the hood. The hood strut is attached to the car frame.
4. Locate the clip that locks the hood support to the joint. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry out the clip that locks the hood strut in place.
   
5. Install the new hood support in reverse order. 
6. Repeat this procedure for the other hood support if your Cadillac has two.
