📖 YOUCANIC Automotive Glossary
ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) uses forward-facing radar or camera sensors to detect vehicles ahead and automatically adjusts speed to maintain a driver-selected following distance. Unlike conventional cruise control, ACC slows when approaching slower traffic and accelerates when the road clears. Advanced systems include stop-and-go capability in traffic.
ACC sensor faults can be caused by radar obstruction (mud, snow, ice on the bumper), sensor misalignment from front-end impacts, and module failures. After front bumper replacement or collision repair, the radar sensor typically requires recalibration. The YOUCANIC UCAN-II reads ACC-related DTCs from the ADAS or radar module.
