Data Playback
📖 YOUCANIC Automotive Glossary
Data Playback is a scanner function that allows you to review and analyze diagnostic data that was previously recorded during a live data logging session. After recording live data while driving or performing tests, Data Playback lets you scroll through the captured values frame by frame, view graphs of parameter changes over time, identify the exact moment anomalies occurred, and compare multiple parameters simultaneously to find correlations. This is invaluable for diagnosing intermittent problems that occur during driving conditions you cannot reproduce while parked with the hood open.
The typical workflow is: record live data while driving and experiencing the symptom, stop recording, then use Data Playback to review the captured data at your leisure. For example, if the engine occasionally stumbles at highway speed, record fuel trim, MAF, RPM, and throttle position during highway driving — then review the playback to see exactly what each parameter was doing at the moment of the stumble. The YOUCANIC UCAN-II supports data recording and playback with graphing capabilities for comprehensive analysis.
