Learn how to replace the low-beam headlight bulb on Hyundai Elantra. This guide is applicable to model years 2011 through 2016. To replace the low beam bulb on a Hyundai Elantra, you must open the hood and reach behind the headlight.
The following video shows the procedure you must follow to replace a Hyundai Elantra headlight bulb.
What you will need
- H11 Light Bulb
The steps are for models without HID. Very few Hyundai Elantra vehicles use HID bulbs. To determine if you have HID bulbs, look at the top of the headlight. If you notice a high-voltage warning label, the headlight is equipped with HID bulbs.
Procedure
-
Park your Hyundai Elantra and set the parking brakes.
-
Open Hood. Pull on the hood release located on the left side of the dashboard. You should be able to hear the hood of your Hyundai Elantra pop up.
-
Remove the cap that’s behind the headlight by twisting it counterclockwise. Once you remove the cap, you can see the light bulb.
-
Next, press on the two tabs of the electrical plug and pull it away from the socket. Twist the light bulb and remove it from the headlight socket.
-
Install a new light bulb. The last step is to install the new light bulb, the Hyundai headlight. Ensure the rubber gasket on the cap is still there and seal the headlight properly. Otherwise, you may have issues with water and condensation forming inside the headlight.
