- Thin flat-head screwdriver
Procedures
- Locate the panel under the glove compartment on the front passenger side of the car.
- Loosen and remove three (3) T25 screws using a Torx screwdriver.
- Pull the panel down and remove the electrical connection for the night light.
- Bend down and pull out the panel.
- The blower motor housing is now visible; detach the blower’s electrical connection by pushing the connector’s tab using your fingers or using a thin flat-head screwdriver. You may use your finger or a small screwdriver to push the tab.
- Detach the blower from the frame by removing five (5) screws using a Torx screwdriver with T-handle. Please look at the blower motor housing’s different perspectives to find the location of the screws.
- Pull the blower housing down.
- Take note of the orientation of the two big blind holes on the blower housing; these are oriented towards the driver side.
- Remove the screws that attach the blower resistor module to the blower motor housing using a T20 screwdriver.
- Push wires out of the way, move the blower resistor module up and down while pulling it towards you in a diagonal direction until the lock release.
- Disconnect blower wires from the blower resistor module by pulling the connector while pressing the tab (lock).
- Prepare the new blower motor.
- Connect the blower resistor module to the new blower motor assembly. Be sure to push the module until it sits on the lock at the bottom side of the blower housing.
- Reinstall T20 blower resistor module screws using a Torx screwdriver.
- Verify the blower resistor module installation.
- Install the new blower motor assembly (housing) to the frame by pushing it up while reinstalling the screws.
- Reconnect the blower’s electrical connector by pushing it until it clicks.
- Reposition the panel.
- Reconnect the electrical connection for the dome light.
- Fit the panel in place while locking the tabs and re-install t25 screws for the panel.
