Procedure

  1. Pull the hood release under the dashboard, go to the vehicle’s front, unlock the hood latch and pull the hood up until the hood struts lock.Opened hood of the 2010 Mercedes Benz S550 W221.
  2. Locate the fuse box on the driver’s side of the engine compartment near the vehicle’s brake fluid reservoir.The fuse box of the 2010 Mercedes Benz S550 W221.
  3. Remove the fuse box cover by loosening the 4mm hex bolts on the fuse box cover using an Allen wrench.Removing the bolts on the fuse box cover.
  4. To identify the meaning of the fuse symbols, see the owner’s manual. The number on the end of the fuse is called the load rating. Using the same fuse load rating and size is important to prevent a short. Extra fuses are also stored on the cover. In case a fuse blows, check the circuit to find the cause of the problem. After correcting the trouble, install a new fuse and insert it into the same location.

  5. Locate the 2nd fuse box responsible for the vehicle’s starting operation. It can be found on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the vehicle’s battery.The fuse box on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
