← Back to All Questions
Home › Questions & Answers › What if I have trouble connecting the UCAN scanner to my car?
Beginner Applies to: UCAN-II, UCAN-HD

If you experience difficulty connecting the UCAN scanner to your vehicle, our support team can help — including remote access assistance with your permission.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check the OBD-II port: Make sure the connector is fully seated in the vehicle’s OBD-II port, usually located under the dashboard on the driver’s side
  2. Turn the ignition on: The key should be in the ON position or the vehicle should be running
  3. Try again: Back out and re-select your vehicle make, model, and year
  4. Check for bent pins: Inspect both the scanner connector and the vehicle’s OBD-II port for bent or damaged pins

Remote Support

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, contact our team. With your permission, a technician can remotely access your scanner screen and help diagnose and fix the connection or communication problem in real time.

Email your VIN to support@youcanic.com or call us at 1-888-959-4265.
