2016-2020 Kia Optima Cabin Air Filter Replacement

What you will need

• Cabin air filter (Kia Optima)

Procedure

1. Unlock all doors and open the passenger door.
2. Open the glove box located above the front-seat passenger’s footwell.
3. Twist the tabs inside the glove box counterclockwise to unlock them.
4. To access the cabin air filter, unhook the glove box damper on the right side.
5. Squeeze the tab on the right side of the cabin air filter cover and remove it from the housing.
6. Pull the cabin air filter out.
7. Install the new cabin air filter by pushing it to its place. Note the direction of the airflow; the air filter should have an arrow on the side.
8. Reinstall the cabin air filter cover. Line it back up with the cabin air filter box and push it to lock it in place.
9. Hook the clamp back to the glove box.
10. Line up the tab back to the glove box and twist it clockwise to lock it.
11. Close the glove box.
