EGR Valve

📖 YOUCANIC Automotive Glossary
The EGR Valve controls exhaust gas flow into the intake manifold to reduce NOx emissions. Modern valves use stepper or DC motors with position feedback. The valve stays closed at idle and WOT, opening during light-moderate cruising. Carbon buildup causing sticking is the most common failure. Stuck open: rough idle, stalling. Stuck closed: knock, increased NOx.
DTCs: P0401 (Insufficient Flow), P0402 (Excessive Flow), P0403 (Circuit). The YOUCANIC UCAN-II commands EGR Active Tests and performs Adaptation Reset after cleaning or replacement.
