Reset Acura Oil Life Service Reminder

If you perform the engine oil at the dealer, your Acura dealer will reset the oil service reminder. If you change the engine oil yourself or at your local auto mechanic, follow these instructions to reset the Acura oil reminder.

You do not need to start the engine when you reset the oil life on Acura. Turn the key to position II or press the START button without braking.

ILX Oil Life Reset Instructions

Below are instructions on how to reset Acura ILX oil life. You must use the button on your Acura steering wheel to reset the oil service reminder.

1. Turn the ignition On.
2. Use your steering wheel’s Info and SEL/RESET buttons to scroll to Vehicle Settings.
3. Enter Vehicle Settings and scroll to Maintenace Info.
4. At this point, you should see the remaining oil life. Select RESET only if you have changed the oil.
5. Oil service reminders will reset, and 100% will be displayed on the screen.

MDX Oil Reset Instructions

Use the buttons on the steering wheel of your Acura MDX to reset the oil service reminder.

1. Turn the ignition On.
2. Use the steering wheel buttons to scroll to MAINTENANCE INFO.
3. The remaining oil life will be on display.
4. Select RESET. This will reset the oil reminder to 100%.

Older Acura MDX

1. Turn the ignition on. All your dash lights will turn on, but do not start the engine.
2. Press the SEL/RESET switch on the steering wheel multiple times up until it displays blank, SH-AWD, and tire pressure.
3. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for at least ten seconds or until the remaining oil life is displayed.
4. Below the OIL LIFE RESET, you will see the RESET option.
5. Select the RESET by pressing the Up/Down button on the steering wheel.
6. Next, press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil reminder.

RDX Oil Life Reset Instructions

The following are the guides to reset the Acura RDX oil life instructions on a 2016 Acura RDX.

1. Turn the ignition On.
2. Use the steering wheel buttons and choose CUSTOMIZE SETTINGS.
3. Next, use the buttons on the steering wheel to select MAINTENANCE INFO.
4. The remaining oil life will be displayed—for example, 0%.
5. Press the RESET button to set the oil life to 100%.

RLX Oil Life Reset Instructions

1. Turn the ignition On.
2. Go to MAINTENANCE INFO using the steering wheel buttons.
3. Use the steering wheel buttons on the right to display the oil life.
4. Once the remaining oil life is shown, use the steering wheel buttons to select RESET.

TLX Oil Life Reminder Reset

1. Use the steering wheel buttons to scroll to MAINTENANCE INFO.
2. Select the display Oil LIFE.
3. Scroll with the steering wheel buttons until RESET shows on the display.
4. Once RESET is displayed, press OK on the steering wheel button.

RL Oil Service Reminder

1. Switched On, but do not start the engine.
2. Operate the SEL/RESET steering wheel buttons until the OIL LIFE is shown.
3. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for at least 10 seconds.
4. Select RESET and press the SEL/RESET button.

TL Oil Service Reminder

2006-2010

1. Switched On, but do not start the engine.
2. Press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel until the remaining engine oil life is shown.
3. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for at least ten seconds.
4. Use the Up/Down buttons to select RESET, then press the SEL/RESET button to reset engine oil life.
