How to tell where your Lexus Toytoa was made

Procedure

  1. Find the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on your car’s dashboard or open the driver’s door and locate this sticker.
  2. Check the first character of your VIN, which is usually a letter or a number
  3. The  characters
    • 1, 4, or 5 indicate a car built in the United States.
    • J for Japan,
    • K for South Korea,
    • W for Germany,
    • 2 is Canada,
    • 3 is Mexico,
    • Z is Italy
    • S is for the United Kingdom.

While most Toyota and Lexus vehicles are manufactured in Japan, Lexus has plans in other countries, such as Canada and the USA.

Finding out where your Toyota or Lexus was made is very easy. Open the driver’s door and locate the VIN sticker. At the bottom, it will say Made in Japan, Made in the USA, or Made in Canada.
