Acura MDX 2001–2006

Based on Honda's Global mid-size platform, the Acura MDX is equipped with a 3.5 L SOHC 24-valve V6 engine with VTEC. It has a curb weight of 4,451 lb, a 106.3-inch wheelbase, and 8 inches of ground clearance. While designed for seven passengers, the third-row seats can only accommodate two individuals. The vehicle features an automatic four-wheel-drive system (VTM-4) that engages during off-the-line acceleration and wheel slippage, with a lock mode for 4WD operation at low speeds. The navigation system and DVD entertainment options were mutually exclusive but became available together, starting with the 2003 model, including a backup camera. The 2006 model featured minor interior trim revisions, including a dark grey wood option and a black dash and steering wheel in tan interiors.
