What you will need
- Flat screwdriver
- Hydraulic hood strut support
- Two people
Procedure
- Pull the hood release under the dashboard.
- Unlock the hood latch and pull the hood up.
- Before removing the hood strut, let someone hold the hood or put any material that can support the hood up.
- Remove the hood strut, insert the screwdriver into the clip connected to the hood and use the screwdriver to pull the clip out of the hood.
- Remove also the tab connected to the frame using the same procedure.
- Line up the tabs of the new hood strut to the hood and frame.
- Push the hood strut to the frame and hood to lock the clip of the hood strut to the vehicle.
