How to Troubleshoot Warning Lights Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class X156 2014 to 2019

What you will need

• YOUCANIC Multi-System Scanner

The YOUCANIC UCAN-II Pro can read and clear fault codes through every control module on supported vehicles.

Procedure

1. Unlock the vehicle, insert the key into the ignition switch, and turn it into accessories.
2. Connect the scanner to the vehicle and search for the vehicle’s model by going to the manually or automatically select option on the scanner. Then press OK to confirm.
3. Select the chassis on the scanner and press ok.
4. Select the ESP or Electronic Stability Program.
5. Check the wheel speed sensor by going to the datastream and selecting the wheel speed menu.
6. If there’s no problem with the wheel speed sensor, return to the ESP menu and select read codes.
7. Press ok on the read codes, and the scanner will start scanning the vehicle.
8. Return to the ESP menu, select erase codes, and press ok to start erasing codes that have not been removed.
9. Turn the ignition switch off and on again, then turn it to accessories. Then, go to the read codes sectionon the scanner and start rescanning the vehicle.
10. Return to the data stream once the scanner shows the problem (Steering Angle Sensor).
11. Select sensors on the menu and go down to the steering wheel angle.
12. Move the steering wheel to check whether the steering wheel angle sensor works.
13. Start the vehicle, move the steering wheel, and check the sensor again. If the steering wheel angle is not moving on the scanner, then there’s a problem with the steering wheel angle sensor.
