Here is a list of Hyundai dashboard warning lights and what each light means.

Hyundai Antilock Brake System ABS

 

Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)

This light means that the anti-lock brakes are not working. Your vehicle may take longer to bring to a complete stop under hard braking. A common problem that triggers this light is a faulty ABS wheel speed sensor. The vehicle can be operated with the ABS light on but should not be driven if PARK or BRAKE light comes on.

Hyundai Malfunction Indicator Lamp MIL

 

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)

This light means the engine is not running properly, and the vehicle needs to be diagnosed as soon as possible.

Hyundai airbag warning light

 

Airbag Warning Light

This light means that the airbag system is not working properly. The airbags may not deploy if you get involved in an accident.  Diagnose the system as soon as possible.

Hyundai Low Tire Pressure Warning Indicator/ TPMS Malfunction Lamp

 

Low Tire Pressure Warning Indicator 

This light means one of the tires has low air pressure. Check tire pressure and add air. Tires must have at least 35 PSI. Open the driver’s door and look at the sticker that shows the recommended air pressure for your vehicle.

Hyundai Electric Power Steering EPS

 

Electric Power Steering (EPS)

This light means there is a problem with the electric power steering. The steering wheel may be tough to turn.

Hyundai Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light

 

Oil Pressure Warning Light

This light means that the oil pressure is too low. Stop immediately and check the oil level. Add engine oil if needed. Do not continue to drive if this light stays on.

Hyundai Autonomous Emergency Braking AEB Warning Light

 

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) Warning Light

This light means that the vehicle has applied brakes autonomously to avoid an accident.

Hyundai Master Warning Light

 

Master Warning Light

This light means there are one or more problems with the vehicle. This light usually comes on along with another warning light.

Hyundai Electronic Stability Control ESC Indicator

 

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Indicator

This light means that there is a problem with the stability control. The vehicle is drivable, but it is recommended to get it diagnosed by an auto mechanic as soon as possible.

Hyundai Turn Signal Indicator

 

Turn Signal Indicator

This light means the left or right turn signal (blinker) is turned on.

This light means that the high beams will turn on and off automatically, depending on the incoming traffic.

This light means you get out of the lane without turning on the blinker. The vehicle may autocorrect, trying to keep you in the lane. If the light is on constantly, there is a problem with the lane keep assist system.

This light reminds the driver that at least one person in the vehicle is not wearing the seat belt.

Hyundai Electronic Brake Force Distribution EBD System Warning Light

 

Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) System Warning Light

This light means a problem with the ABS and electronic brakes. Stop immediately and consult an auto mechanic.

This light means it is freezing outside. Drive slower. Drive with caution.

This light means the vehicle can not start because the key is not recognized. You will not be able to start the car. Try pressing the start button with the keyfob. If you have a smart key, replace the batteries in the keyfob.
