This guide provides instructions on how to replace the engine air filter on 6 and 8-cylinder Mercedes-Benz engines used on C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, ML-Class, G-Class, R-Class, CLS-Class, SLK-Class from 1998 to 2007. All trims including 240, 320, 430, 500, 55AMG, 600.

Procedure

  1. Park the Mercedes on level ground and set parking brakes.
  2. Remove the air intake duct that goes to the engine cover.
  3. Lift engine cover.

  5. Remove four (for each filter) T25 Torx bolts.MERCEDES-E320-AIR-FILTER-DIY

  7. Install the new one.install-new-filter
  8. Reinstall the plastic housing.
  9. Replace the second air filter following the same procedure.
