Volkswagen Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is stamped in several locations all over the vehicle. Looking at the windshield’s left lower corner is the easiest way to find VW VIN.


Other locations where you will find VW VINs include the driver’s door frame, engine bay, strut tower or fender, firewall, trunk floor, and license plate.

Using a Volkswagen scanner, you can retrieve a VW VIN from the engine control module and instrument cluster.
