How to Set the Time Clock on a 2006-2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Is it daylight saving time again? The dashboard clock on Mercedes-Benz S-Class models made between 2006 and 2013 can be difficult to set at times. If you are having trouble setting the clock in your Mercedes, this guide might be for you.

How to Set the Time in Mercedes-Benz

There are a few different ways to set the clock on a W221 S-Class, even if the time refuses to change.

1. Rotate the central console until you find “Vehicle” on the Mercedes screen.
2. At the bottom of the screen, select “System” from the list provided.
3. From the drop-down menu of settings, select “Time.”
4. On a little tab that will be shown next to it, click “Time” again.
5. Change the time in your time zone.
6. After entering the time, press the central console’s “Enter” key to move the time to the adjusted time.

Tips if the time does not change

• Press and hold the CD eject button until the system resets. Once you see the COMAND reboot, you have about 1 minute to change the clock in standard system settings. Go to the vehicle on your screen and see the settings.
• Perform COMAND software updates. You can update yourself by following this guide (free) or consult the dealership (costs money). Once the update is performed, you can change the clock anytime.
• Try to set the clock first thing in the morning when you get into the car before starting the engine. (Ignition on, no start)
• Disconnect the battery in the boot briefly; then, you could reset it on the command within a minute.
• Remove one of the battery terminals before midnight and reconnect strictly at noon, midday, or midnight. Whether you do it at noon or midnight, it doesn’t matter.
• Change the language to German; then, you can set the clock. After you set the clock, change the language back to English.
